Camera moves and director syntax

24 camera moves, camera gear, lenses and apertures, written in the prompt or inserted from the Syntax menu, and a look in Settings.

A camera move is words in the prompt. Type "dolly in", "orbit" or "wide shot" and the composer highlights it in amber as it recognises it, then sends it to the engine as its camera direction. The Syntax menu, first in the composer's bottom row, lists the 24 camera moves (dolly in, orbit, crane up, whip pan, FPV, bullet time…), the camera gear, 6 lenses and 3 apertures, and inserts any of them in one click.

The look in Settings

Video's Settings hold the palette (12 of them) and the lighting (7 setups). In Cinema the whole look (film type, era, tempo, camera gear, lens, aperture, palette and lighting) is set once in the Film tab of the film's side panel (the Director's rack) and folded into every scene, unless a scene overrides it.

What a move cannot do

A camera move is a direction, not a guarantee: every engine interprets it its own way, and a move that fights the action in the prompt loses. One move per clip reads best.
