Replace: your characters in your own clip

Video → Replace puts your characters in the place of the people in a clip you already have, and keeps every move, the scene and the sound.

  1. 1

Open Video → Replace and click the "Clip to replace" tile (Creations, Storage or an upload), or drop a clip on the box. The player loops the range you trim with the two handles; only that range is rendered and billed.

  2. 2

The studio finds the people in the clip. For each one you want to replace, pick one of your Characters, up to 4, and what they wear: their own outfit, the one in the clip, or one you describe. A short note can add the rest. Or start from a trending template (a viral clip your characters step into): it sets the cast slot by slot. Under a feed, the templates wait behind "See templates".

  3. 3

Click Replace. The result opens as a before/after you drag across; the original sound plays under both.

The engine

  • eroq Replace Pro, eroq's own, on every plan: 2 to 10 seconds of one continuous shot (trim a longer clip in the composer), rendered at 24 fps in 768p or in HD 1080p. It replaces the people in the clip, up to 4 at once, with your characters cast from their identity sheets, each in their own outfit, the clip's or one you describe, and keeps every move, the lip movement, the scene and the original sound. 30 credits a second in 768p, 60 in HD, two seconds minimum.

  • Billing counts whole seconds of the trimmed range, with a small grace so a 10.03-second trim is still ten seconds.

  • Watermark, at the bottom of Settings: a small "made with eroq.ai" mark rides the edited clip (top-left, then bottom-right) and the edit costs 10% less. Off, your edits come back clean. Replace does not run in Private mode.

Afterwards

Replace Pro returns the clip with its original sound. "Open in the Editor" puts the result on the Editor's timeline with the original sound under it.

Replace Pro reads each character's identity sheet, made from their photos on the character's page (the studio offers to create it); without one it falls back on their photo, which holds the face less steadily. It takes those sheets as they are, up to four characters at once, each in the place of the person they replace, and keeps their faces all along the clip.
