Comparison
Seedance vs Veo 3.1 Fast
Seedance 2.5 is the long-take engine: 4 to 30 seconds, seeds, first and last frames, and up to six reference pictures with a character's voice sample, at up to 720p. Veo 3.1 Fast renders 4, 6 or 8 seconds at 720p or 1080p, takes a seed, first and last frames, three reference pictures and a negative prompt, and opens on the Hobby plan. Both render sound with the picture, so the choice usually comes down to length, resolution and budget.

Which one to pick
- →Veo 3.1 Fast for ads, shorts and ambient loops that fit an 8-second beat — at 1080p when you need it, from the Hobby plan.
- →Seedance 2.5 for narrative scenes, long takes, a cast held from up to six reference pictures, and anything you will revise with a seed.
- →For narration rather than in-shot sound, render it in the voice studio and switch Veo's soundtrack off — its rate drops from 43 to 34 credits a second at 720p.
Questions
Does Seedance generate audio?
Yes. Seedance 2.5 renders native sound with the picture at no extra cost, and a character's voice sample can ride along with the reference pictures. Veo 3.1 Fast renders sound too, as an option billed per second.
Which is cheaper per second?
At 720p, Veo 3.1 Fast is 43 credits a second with sound (51 at 1080p) and Seedance 2.5 is 98. Veo stops at 8 seconds, though, and Seedance 2.5 goes to 30.
Can a Veo 3.1 Fast clip be longer than 8 seconds?
No. Veo 3.1 Fast renders 4, 6 or 8 seconds, and the duration pills show only those. Use Seedance 2.5 when one take has to run longer — up to 20 seconds on Creator and 30 from Studio.
Can I reproduce a take with a seed?
Yes, on both — each honours a seed, so the same prompt, settings and seed bring the same take back. A seed only reproduces a take on the engine that made it, so it does not carry across from one to the other.
Is the dialogue lip-synced to a voice I provide?
No. Both engines render speech as part of the shot itself — on Seedance 2.5 a character's voice sample rides along with the references — but eroq has no lip-sync tool, so you cannot lay a separate voice track over an existing clip and have the mouth match.
