What is Cinema

A space for films: a Story of scenes filmed in shots, shots that continue each other, an edit with transitions and sound, and an MP4 export.

A single clip is one beat. Cinema is how you make something longer: a film is a Story of scenes (a place at a time, with the characters who are there), each filmed in one or more shots that share one look (engine, format, lighting, palette) and render as separate clips you then cut together. It lives at Studio → Cinema, with two tabs per film, Story and Edit, and a side panel holding the Film settings, the Cover, the History of everything rendered and Ask. Cinema is for films only: to cut clips you already have, use the Editor.

Starting a film

  • From scratch: New film, name it, then add a scene and write its first shot.

  • From a recipe, through Ask: six complete films (notes, scenes, shots, dialogue and a look) that you adapt. Ask Clap for one by its idea and it opens in Cinema; Cinema itself has no recipe picker. Opening one costs nothing; only rendering does.

  • From Ask: a prompt handed to Cinema becomes the first shot, and a production Clap plans with you opens its cut in Cinema. In Video, "Edit the sequence" opens a run of Extend and Lead into shots as a film, in order, on its Edit tab.

Limits worth knowing

Up to 100 shots per film and 50 saved films. Films autosave as you type, and each film gets its own folder in your Library, named after it. Private mode renders nothing in Cinema, because the edit needs stored takes.
