Prompting
Seed
A seed is the number that initializes a generation's randomness. The same prompt, settings and seed reproduce the same output, which turns re-rendering into revision instead of a gamble.
With a fixed seed you can change one word and see exactly what it does. Without one, every render is a new roll. Not every engine honors a seed; the ones that do are the ones to iterate on.
On eroq
The Seedance and Veo 3.1 engines, Wan 3.0 and Runway Gen-4.5 honor `seed`; Restore all, in a render's details, reloads its full recipe so the same take can be revised.
Questions
Which eroq engines support seeds?
Seedance, Veo, Runway Gen-4.5 and Wan 3.0. eroq Motion One, Motion Pro, Kling, Hailuo and Grok Imagine ignore the parameter; /v1/engines reports it per engine as seed.
Does a seed guarantee the same clip?
Only if the prompt, the model and every setting are identical too — the seed fixes the randomness, not the rest of the recipe. Change a word, the length or the aspect ratio and the render is a new roll.
Can I use a seed with several takes?
You can, but a batch of four takes on a fixed seed returns four identical clips — the seed removes exactly the variation takes exist for. Fix the seed to revise one shot, leave it empty to explore.
