Voice cloning
Voice cloning creates a synthetic voice from a recording so new text can be spoken in that voice. Modern engines need about a minute of clean speech and reproduce timbre and cadence across languages.
Consent is the rule: clone your own voice or one you have permission to use. Clean audio (one speaker, no music, no echo) matters more than length.
On eroq
Upload a recording in the voice studio; the clone is private to your account (unless you publish it to the voice catalog, attested and reviewed), usable on eroq Voice One and eroq Voice Turbo, assignable to a Character, and callable by id in the API.
Questions
Is voice cloning legal?
For your own voice or with consent, yes. eroq bans impersonating real people.
Does cloning a voice cost credits?
No — cloning is free and synchronous, and keeping the clone costs nothing. You pay only for the speech it reads, at 3 credits per 100 characters on eroq Voice One or 2 on eroq Voice Turbo.
What happens to a character if I delete their clone?
They fall back to the default voice and everything else about them is untouched. Deleting a clone is permanent, so cloning again means uploading the recording again.
