How to make an AI video by just describing it, step by step

Type one sentence on the eroq studio home: Clap prices the clip as a plan you approve, or sets up the Video tool. What to write, what gets set, what a clip costs.

You don't have to learn a video tool's settings to get a clip out of it. On the eroq studio home, one sentence is enough: Clap, the assistant in Ask, reads it and answers with a plan, the clip with its engine, length, format and exact credits, which it renders in the chat once you approve. Prefer to check it on the Video page first? Say "open it in Video" and it sets up the Video tool with the engine, length, format and prompt, gives you a button to open it, and leaves the Generate click to you. The Ask page has the overview; this guide is the practice.

It goes from one sentence to a rendered clip, then one round of changes by follow-up, with the credit arithmetic at the end.

Step 1 — Write one sentence

Start with the picture, then the settings. A sentence that renders well carries four things, roughly in this order:

  1. Subject — who or what is on screen. "A red fox."
  2. Motion — what it does. "Trotting." One action per clip.
  3. Place — where it happens. "Through fresh snow in a birch forest."
  4. Light — when, and how it's lit. "At dawn, low golden light."

Then, only if you care about them, the settings:

  • Engine — "with Kling", "on Veo 3.1". Leave it out and Clap picks one for the plan; the Video page keeps the engine it is on.
  • Length — "5-second", "a 10 s clip".
  • Format — "vertical", "square", "landscape".
  • Camera move — "slow tracking shot", "orbit", "push-in".

Put together:

make a 5-second vertical clip of a red fox trotting through fresh snow in a birch forest at dawn, low golden light, slow tracking shot

Ask writes the prompt from your words, so the picture is only as specific as the sentence. "A fox in the snow" gets you a fox in the snow; the forest, the dawn and the light are yours to add.

Step 2 — Know what Ask sets and what it leaves alone

Ask sets only what you asked for. Everything you didn't mention stays at the engine's defaults in a plan, or as the Video page already has it. For the fox sentence, on the page:

You said On the Video page
"5-second" Length: 5 s
"vertical" Format: 9:16
"slow tracking shot" In the prompt, highlighted as a camera move
the fox, the forest, the light The prompt, written from your words
no engine The engine the page is on
no resolution, takes or palette As the page already has them

The words it understands for each setting:

  • Format. Vertical, portrait, TikTok, Reels, Stories and Shorts mean 9:16. Landscape, horizontal and YouTube mean 16:9. Square is 1:1. Cinema or ultra-wide is 21:9.
  • Length. Say the seconds. A plan, or the page, snaps them to what the engine renders and what your plan allows — longer clips unlock with a plan: up to 15 s on Hobby, 20 s on Creator, 30 s on Studio.
  • Engine. Name one and it is set. A family name means that family's standard engine: "Kling" is Kling 3.0, not the Pro, unless you say Pro. Name none and Clap picks one for a plan, while the Video page keeps the engine it is on: the last one you used, or Motion One on a new account, eroq's own engine, which runs on any plan.

Which engine Ask picks goes deeper on how each setting is chosen.

Step 3 — Read the plan, or the grey line

Press Enter. The studio home turns into a chat, and Clap answers with a plan: the clip with its engine, length, format and exact credits, and an Approve button. Approve renders it right there, and the clip lands in the chat and in your library. To check it on the Video page and render it yourself instead, say "open it in Video": under the reply, a grey line says what it set up.

make a 5-second vertical clip of a red fox trotting through fresh snow in a birch forest at dawn, low golden light, slow tracking shot
→ Plan · 5 s · 9:16 [Approve]
open it in Video
→ Video · 5 s · 9:16 [Open Video →]

Read the grey line left to right: the tool, then the length and the format Ask set. There is no engine on it because you named none, so the page keeps the engine it is on. If something is off, this is where you catch it: fix it on the page, or say so in your next message.

Under the line, Ask quotes the prompt it wrote. Nothing opens until you click Open Video → — until then you stay in the chat — and a locked engine shows its plan badge next to the button.

Step 4 — Check the Video page

Click Open Video → and the Video tool opens with your settings in place. Before generating, look at four things:

  • Engine. The one you named, or the one the page was already on. If your plan doesn't include it, the page shows its Unlock button.
  • Duration pills. The lit pill is your length, snapped to what the engine renders and what your plan allows. Ask for more than either permits and this is where you'll see it.
  • Format. 9:16 for the fox.
  • Prompt. Ask's version of your sentence. Video prompts are written in English for the engines, so a sentence typed in French or Spanish arrives translated. Read it once.

The camera move you asked for is in the prompt, highlighted by the composer as a move it recognizes, and everything on the page is still yours to change before you click.

Step 5 — Approve, or click Generate

Nothing is spent before your click. In the chat, Approve spends exactly the credits the plan shows; on the page, Generate is your click, with the usual credit check and plan unlock. For the fox, 5 seconds on Motion One, the default, costs 145 credits either way.

Everything before it was free on Auto: the sentence, the plan, the grey line and the page cost nothing.

Step 6 — Change it with a follow-up

Stay in the chat, or come back to it from the Video page: your browser's back button, or Home in the studio's left rail, then the chat in the column on the left. The conversation is still there, so the next message only needs the change:

rather with Kling, and make it 10 seconds
→ Plan · Kling 3.0 · 10 s · 9:16 [Approve]

What you said earlier still counts: the fox, the forest, the light and the vertical format carry over; only the engine and the length change. "Kling" became Kling 3.0, the family's standard engine. "Open it in Video" takes this version to the page, as before.

If your plan doesn't include Kling 3.0 (it starts on Hobby), Clap says so instead of planning it; on the page, the plan badge sits next to the button, and the page opens with its Unlock button.

Other follow-ups work the same way — "the same but square", "make it 5 seconds", "now as an image". Iterating by conversation has more. New chat starts a fresh thread.

What it costs: drafts, then the keeper

A cheap way to work: draft on Seedance 2.0 Mini, then switch engines for the version you keep. Here is what each clip costs, on Approve or at the Generate click:

Clip Engine Plan Credits
5 s draft Seedance 2.0 Mini any plan 75
10 s draft Seedance 2.0 Mini any plan 150
10 s keeper Kling 3.0 Hobby and up 540

Two 5-second drafts plus one 10-second Kling clip: 150 + 540 = 690 credits. Four drafts on their own come to 300. Plans and packs are on pricing.

FAQ

Do I need to know which video engine to use?

No. Name none and Clap picks one, and the plan names it with its price before you approve; the Video page keeps the engine it is on: the last one you used, or Motion One on a new account, eroq's own engine, which runs on any plan. Name one — "with Kling", "on Veo 3.1" — and that engine is set instead.

Does Ask start the render?

Only when you approve it. Clap's plan shows the clip and its exact credits, and nothing renders and nothing is charged before you click Approve. If you asked for the Video page instead, nothing renders until you click Generate there. Asking is free on Auto.

Why is the length on the page different from what I asked?

The page snaps your seconds to what the engine renders and what your plan allows. Longer clips unlock with a plan: up to 15 s on Hobby, 20 s on Creator and 30 s on Studio.

Can I describe the video in another language?

Yes. Write or speak in your own language and Ask answers in it. The video prompt on the page is written in English for the engines.

What happens if I name an engine my plan doesn't include?

A plan never uses it: Clap says which plan unlocks it. Ask for the Video page and it sets it up anyway, with the plan badge next to the Open Video → button. Click through and the page opens with the engine's Unlock button.

Can I say the sentence out loud?

Yes, in Chrome, Edge and Safari: tap the mic in the Ask bar and speak, and the words send themselves when you stop talking. Voice commands for AI video covers it.

Open the studio and describe your first clip in one sentence: the click that renders it is still yours.
