MCP (Model Context Protocol)
MCP is an open protocol that lets AI assistants call external tools. An MCP server exposes capabilities — like generating a video — that ChatGPT, Claude or a coding agent can invoke in conversation.
Servers speak JSON-RPC over HTTP or stdio; clients list the tools and call them with structured arguments.
On eroq
https://eroq.ai/mcp exposes generate_image, generate_video, generate_speech, enhance_prompt and discovery tools to ChatGPT, Claude, Claude Code, Cursor and Codex; the CLI runs a local stdio server too.
Questions
How do I connect eroq to ChatGPT?
Settings → Connectors → Create, with your personal MCP URL from the dashboard.
Do MCP generations cost credits?
Yes — the tools are thin clients of the same /v1 endpoints, so an image is 10 to 124 credits depending on the model and a clip is priced by engine, length and resolution. Discovery is free, and enhance_prompt costs no credits (inventing is free, rewriting a draft needs a paid plan), and the key you connected decides which wallet pays.
Can an assistant generate video over MCP?
Yes, though not in one breath — generate_video waits about 45 seconds, then hands back a job id for get_video_status to poll. Renders take one to five minutes, so the assistant checks back rather than blocking the chat.
